Rinku Singh's journey in the Indian T20 League since its inception in 2008 has been filled with rags-to-riches stories. He is a left-handed batter from Aligarh who began his cricketing career by representing Uttar Pradesh at the age-group level. His impressive performances at the junior level earned him a quick promotion to the senior team. In March 2014, Rinku made his List A debut for Uttar Pradesh, followed by his T20 debut later that month.

 

In 2016, Rinku made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in a match against Punjab during the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy season. The Punjab franchise signed him for their squad in 2017, but he was released after just one season. The Kolkata franchise then showed faith in him and acquired his services for the 2018 season. They retained him prior to the 2022 mini-auction for the 2023 Indian T20 League season.

 

Rinku Singh primarily bats in the middle order for Uttar Pradesh and the Kolkata franchise. He also contributes with his off-spin bowling and showcases excellent fielding skills, being a swift mover and safe catcher. With his versatile skill set, Rinku Singh has emerged as one of the most exciting players in the league.
